Portraits by Mela (a.k.a Melinda Lowry Anter) is a website for people who love to see their own photographs recreated into a piece of art. Melinda enjoys working in a variety of mediums for portraits: prisma color pencils, pen and ink, acrylics, watercolor, charcoal, pencil and airbrush. She also enjoys creating collages with multiple photographs and textures to create a unique piece of art with Photoshop and Illustrator.
Artwork
Melinda creates portraits of pets and people, anything from dogs to children to military art. Capturing the personality of the subject is her specialty and she has a focus on the eyes to portray the spirit of the artwork. She has been creating custom portraits for over 15 years and loves to see the joy it brings to a client when they get their finished piece and see their loved one recreated as a beautiful piece of art.
